After a long weekend of volunteering and competition, we have finished hosting our two FTC Competitions at the Center Moriches High School. Friday night was spent setting up, transforming our small, quaint school into a FIRST robotics dream. Our gym was fit with two fields for competitions and the 'microwave' changed to fit all of the teams, their robots, and their pits. Forty-two teams showed up in total- nineteen on Saturday and twenty three on Sunday. The pits were gorgeous, the robots were outstanding, and the competition was under way!
Unfortunately, our FTC teams didn't do too well, but the experience was great, and our volunteers blew FIRST away! We were very organized and even finished early on Saturday! Sunday was full of clean-up, and FIRST was kind enough to give us extra parts from a past year's field. Although it was a lot of exhausting work and time, the outcome was well worth it. We were so glad to host these competitions, are proud of all of the teams that participated, and send our best wishes to the teams that are moving on!
